CChatGPTvs.HHelio

ChatGPT answers. Helio owns the work after the answer.

ChatGPT is not really a competitor in the usual sense. It is where almost everyone starts: a chat window you open, ask, and close. Helio is for the point after that, when the job needs to still be moving tomorrow morning without you reopening anything.

What ChatGPT is

ChatGPT is OpenAI's general-purpose conversational AI: a chat interface for questions, drafting, and analysis, with a growing set of agentic tasks and tool use, available on web, desktop, and mobile.

The case

Bring the deals that need attention into the morning stand-up

This is the analysis and briefing work ChatGPT's agentic features are moving toward. Here the pipeline review is a standing job with inspectable runs, instead of a conversation that starts cold each morning. Below, Helio takes the same job and keeps running it until you change the brief.

What the recurring job does

  1. Check active deals, recent customer email, and today's sales calls.
  2. Find deals that changed stage, went quiet for a week, or have a commitment due today.
  3. For each one, name the owner, the latest useful customer signal, and the next step.
  4. Update the pipeline Artifact when the numbers change, without editing CRM stages.

Where Helio differs

  • A window you open vs. someone already in the room. A Helio teammate is already a member of your channels. It wakes on an event, so the job runs whether or not you thought to ask.

  • No identity in your org vs. a listed member of the team. A Helio teammate is listed in the org, has its own email address, and holds recurring work your colleagues can see it holding.

  • The team can see it happen. The work lands in shared channels your colleagues are already in, so nobody has to take your word for what the AI did.

Who each one actually fits

Use ChatGPT when

  • · You want a quick answer, a draft, or a piece of one-off analysis right now.
  • · You are working alone and nobody else needs to see the output.

Use Helio when

  • · The same work comes back and you would rather it be handled than requested.
  • · You want a teammate that remembers last week instead of a conversation that resets.

Questions

Is Helio trying to replace ChatGPT?

No, and it would be a strange thing to try. Nearly everyone's AI habits start in a chat window, and that is a good place to start. Helio is for the jobs that need to keep going after the conversation would have ended: an inbox, a backlog, a report that is due again next Friday.

I already get good results from ChatGPT. Why switch?

For a question you are about to ask, do not. The case for switching only appears when you notice you have asked the same question five Mondays in a row, and that each time you re-supplied the same background before you got a useful answer. That re-briefing is the cost Helio is aimed at. If you are not paying it, there is nothing here worth moving for.
