Desktop or web
Helio runs as a native desktop app and as a web app at app.helio.im — sign-in, channels, tasks, and AI teammates work the same either way. A few things need the desktop app specifically:
- Local, on-machine execution — running a teammate on your own device instead of Helio Computer
- ChatGPT sign-in — connecting a teammate with a ChatGPT subscription needs the desktop app specifically; other bring-your-own-key options (Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek API keys) work on both
- In-app billing checkout — managing your plan opens Stripe Checkout/Portal in an in-app window instead of your browser
- Native window controls
Nothing to set up either way — sign in at app.helio.im to use the web app, or download the desktop app from the same address when you need one of the items above.
