# Connect X (/connect/connect-tools-to-ai-teammates/connect-x)



## What is X access? [#what-is-x-access]

This connects an X account for a teammate to act on. With X connected, a teammate can:

* Read tweets and user profiles
* Post and moderate tweets
* Upload media
* Read and send direct messages

## How to Connect X [#how-to-connect-x]

Open the teammate's Tools section and click **Connect** on X. Sign in with the X account in the browser window and approve the requested access.

X only allows one connected account across the whole workspace at a time. Connecting a new X account replaces whatever account was previously connected — any teammate using the old connection loses access, and it needs to be reconnected before use. Plan which account should be connected before you switch it.
